Blanquette de Limoux Wine

In our recent visit to the Aude, in the Midi-Pyrénées region of France's southwest, we discovered the town of Limoux and its famous white bubbly wine: Blanquette de Limoux. We weren't the first to discover the world's first naturally sparkling wine. That was the monks of the Abbey Saint-Hilaire, who documented this treat as early as 1531.

The town of Limoux, in the Aude department, is a fine place to visit even without the wine.
